Compatibility and harness requirements
A compatible Maxx Volts charger wiring harness equipped for discharging is required. You must already own a compatible Maxx Volts charger system or purchase one separately. This listing is for the discharger only; a charger and vehicle-specific wiring harness are not included.
If the vehicle is not yet known, this listing can be used for a general quote. Confirm the battery chemistry, pack voltage, vehicle, and harness compatibility with Maxx Volts before use. Module count alone does not establish compatibility. Not for lithium-ion battery packs.
How automatic discharging works
The load-based design includes thermal management. Discharge current automatically tapers throughout the entire discharge as battery voltage declines. Near the end of a discharge cycle, current is very low and the discharge proceeds slowly.
Automatic current taper does not mean automatic shutoff at a selected voltage. The user determines the stopping point and any deep-discharge voltage target. Discharging continues until the user disconnects the discharger from the wiring harness. Follow the applicable instructions and monitor the discharge; low current does not replace user supervision.
