This Maxx Volts EL-1 HV Charger kit can be used to charge a Mercury Milan Hybrid hybrid battery that is drained or discharged to the point the vehicle will not start. This Hybrid Battery Charger system will charge the hybrid battery high enough to reach the minimum voltage threshold that will allow starting of the vehicle.
NOTE: It is not a plug-and-play full charging system kit with cooling fan support. It is a tool designed to charge the hybrid battery high enough to restart the vehicle so the vehicle's battery management system can take over. It is not designed to take the hybrid battery to 100% state of charge (SOC), and the user is responsible for disconnecting the charger once the minimum voltage threshold has been met and the car will start.
This kit is designed to assist with a no-start low-voltage hybrid battery condition and is not for charging your hybrid battery to 100% SOC state of charge.
Kit includes a 1-piece wiring harness with leads for hybrid battery positive and negative connections. Kit also includes leads for experimental 12V AUX power and ground output for auxiliary external battery cooling fan experiments. Conservatively supports 12V 5A output. Internally fused; manufacturer service is required if the AUX output limit is exceeded and a fuse blows.
